REDEFINING MOTHERHOOD

COACHING PREGNANCY AND POSTPARTUM FITNESS, NUTRTION AND MINDSET

MY MISSION

There is a massive gap between the healthcare and fitness industries that leaves active pregnant and postpartum women feeling lost, confused, and often fearful about how to safely train. The well-intended but generalized words of caution often lead to unnecessary restrictions, misinformation, and a lack of confidence in one’s own body.

No woman should have to navigate this journey alone. My Babies and Barbells class was created to bridge this gap—offering a space where education, strength, and community come together. My mission with The Mom Movement is to provide cohesive, easy-to-follow education, mentorship, and a progressive approach to fitness that empowers women to stay strong, move well, and feel at home in their bodies through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

Motherhood is an ever-changing season, but strength (both physical and mental) should be a foundation you can trust. Whether it’s your first lift back postpartum or finding confidence in your body’s capabilities during pregnancy, I am here to help you train smarter, fuel well, and rewrite the narrative around what’s possible for moms in fitness: Let’s redefine motherhood.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

You’re newly pregnant and walk into a class at your gym. You look at the workout on the board and wonder if it’s okay to be doing everything as written. You’ve heard a few things about heart rate or core work, but you’re not really sure if you should be lifting the prescribed weights or doing pull-ups. You look for clarification and the coach says “just listen to your body” and “you should be able to do what you’ve always done”.

Let’s clear up that uncertainty. Let’s redefine motherhood.

WHAT MAMAS ARE SAYING

  • "I returned to the gym without too much thought on how my body changed postpartum. I was fortunate to have Sam by my side! Her in depth understanding of anatomy, pregnancy, recovery postpartum and unwavering compassion made my return an intentional, mindful and safe one. I'm very grateful for her expertise."

    SARRAH CAMPBELL

  • “My post-partum journey has been a rollercoaster, both physically and mentally. Being someone that has always been in competitive sports and relatively fit, it was hard to get back into training regulary. But Sam was approachable, knowledgeable and supportive. She always met me where I was at that day and always pushed me when she knew I could handle it. After a year and a bit of training with Sam, I can honestly say that the foundational strength I regained through her programming has helped me do so many things, including have more energy to play with my kiddo! She is not only great with physical programming but she is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to nutrition, which I truly appreciate.”

    MAYA YUE

  • "I started training with Sam pre-pregnancy. During my pregnancy, Sam made sure to meet me where I was (and needed to be) and because she knew what I was capable of she also knew how hard to push me and when to not push at all. I cannot speak highly enough of Sam or recommend her more. I trained in both a private setting and in a class setting right up to my delivery date and it was the best thing I could have done for myself (and my baby too)."

    ROSA MATTIA

  • "Being a busy professional and a new parent, sometimes what is best for you often falls behind what is easiest. I worked with Sam to create a customized nutrition plan to supplement my CrossFit training and fit into my crazy schedule. Her deep understanding of how nutrition impacts and is impacted by everything (sleep, hunger, recovery, energy, digestion and stress) was impressive, but her ability to easily incorporate her recommendations into my daily routine was what I appreciated most.”
